Anti-Aging Discoveries: How Loss of Vitality Causes Premature Aging

Among the various anti-aging discoveries and longevity research that have been made recently, the study of 90-year-old men by Yates et al (2008) has shown that:

‘the probability of a 90-year life span at age 70 years was 54 per cent in the absence of smoking, diabetes, obesity, hypertension, or sedentary lifestyle.’

What this means is that five controllable factors are associated with failure to reach 90 years of age. They are:

  • smoking (more than doubles the risk)
  • diabetes
  • obesity
  • hypertension
  • sedentary lifestyle.

Scientists, doctors and health professionals all agree that these five factors can all be controlled early in life.

Sadly, the stress and pressure of 21st Century living does affect our health and wellbeing. Consequently…

We are starting to grow old too early in our lives.

Apart from frequent illness, killer diseases, lack of success or poor performance, loss of vitality has been found to cause premature aging.

Naturally, brain cells die as we age but one of the problems with aging is that looking old, feeling old or suffering from what was once an old person’s disease is now no longer limited to the older generation. Young people are now also equally affected.

So you need to begin to slow down the aging process.

Whilst little can be done with chronological aging – that’s the number you are in years, for example 21 or 71 years of age – you can take direct control of how you age biologically.

Fast-paced modern life, poor or abusive lifestyle choices, poor diet, lack of appropriate exercise, stress, pressure, toxins, lack of sleep or destructive attitudes can all cause your mind and body to prematurely deteriorate biologically. Essentially, how you age biologically depends on how you’ve taken care of yourself, how you’ve worked on your health and well being.

Apart from externally looking old physically, having poor health, physical weakness and vulnerability; being unable to resist infections, being forgetful or suffering from memory loss are all signs of biological aging. Unfortunately you only notice you’ve aged when it is too late.

According to research, having the right genes is not the solution either. Genetic factors account for just 25 per cent of variation in life span. Your vulnerability to the various illnesses associated with aging is a product of how healthy you keep your mind and body; that is, knowing exactly how you can help yourself to age healthily. That’s what you’ll learn in my book Reclaim Your Vitality.

Of all the anti-aging discoveries that have been made, I have pointed out in my book some of the most effective solutions to anti-aging of the mind. One way is to keep the brain young by exercising it regularly, and it is best to start that early in life. Another key to healthy aging is to look at how we, as a community, can help people age naturally and more gracefully, and how we can benefit from their experiences. Older adults are a precious resource to society.

So you should act early, act now and slow down the aging process. My new book Reclaim Your Vitality offers the latest anti-aging discoveries to benefit both mind and body. It includes important tips, techniques, foods and herbs to help you slow down the aging process. You can order your copy here at our company's secured website.
